A Recent Story
October, 2023

We met the most incredible people, made new friends, saw some of the most rare sightings and created everlasting memories. This one will not be forgotten! It was great to host this group from Texas on our Safari, Wine & Golf Journey.
At the bottom of the story you'll find the video of this amazing journey. It's hard to capture the beauty of the whole journey in images alone!
This member-trip was hosted by Golf Air a few weeks ago with the first few nights kicking off in Johannesburg on August 29th, 2023.
We kicked off with a round at the most private club in South Africa, The River Club. We were treated like royalty and the nice touch with the US Flag on the 18th calls for a photograph for sure!
On the edge of the Kruger Park and overlooking the Crocodile River lies Leopard Creek Golf Club. The course is currently rated as the Top Course in the country. The 13th is the signature hole of this great club. It's right on the banks of the river and as always, we took a little break to view some of the game basking in the sun and also cooling off in the water.
Around the corner from Leopard Creek is Sabi Sabi Lodge. We had a total of 14 rooms for our 28 guests and the experiences really will be imprinted in our minds forever. In our many, many years of joining our guests on Private Safari, we've NEVER seen a Pangolin... If ever there was a sign that this will be the trip of a lifetime, this was it. We saw this illusive animal for the very first time. We've been lucky to experience thousands of Safaris with our guests, but we've never seen one. It was a magical experience.
After the incredible safari in the Kruger and Sabi Reserve, we headed to Fancourt that is located on the Garden Route of South Africa. The leisure guests opting to not play golf enjoy the "Walking with the Gentle Giants". Fancourt is home to the Links at Fancourt, rated number two in the country. The Montagu Gc is also a top ten course and was a great course to play before our last flight to Cape Town where we ended off our journey.
Cape Town is always part of the conversation when talking about visiting South Africa. We ended off our journey at the Mount Nelson ("the Nellie"). It's one of the oldest luxury hotels in Africa, built in 1899. Here are some image highlights of our time in the Mother City of South Africa.
